Sebastian Vettel grabs pole in a rain delayed session in Brazil
Sebastian Vettel once again proved his mastery on all conditions with his Red Bull by grabbing pole in a rain delayed session at the wet and damp Interlagos Circuit. Vettel grabbed his 9th pole of the season and 2nd pole in Brazil.
The Qualifying session started with wet and damp track and Q1 was topped by Hamilton followed by Vettel, Rosberg and Hulkenberg.
Grosjean topped Q2 as the rain started to pour again with Vettel, Alonso, Rosberg following while Perez crashed his McLaren right after the flag.
Q3 goy delayed for 45mins due to the heavy rains at the circuit but by 15:30 local time the session resumed with Vettel and Webber getting out on track. Grosjean, after a lap on the wets came in immediately to swap into intermediates and soon followed the Red Bulls, Mercedes and Ferraris.
Grosjean went into provisional P1 but Vettel immediately toppled it and remained on top bettering his own time till the final lap. Rosberg´s P2 was momentarily challenged by Alonso but the Mercedes driver got another better lap over the Ferrari man who made slight excursion on his last lap.
Webber gained 4th on the grid and pushed Hamilton to 5th on the grid alongside Grosjean´s Lotus. The Toro Rossos of Ricciardo and Vergne claimed 4th row with Massa and Hulkenberg in Row 5.
